As a Human Resources Consultant – Organizational Development in the Human Resources Planning section, you will provide leadership and support that will enhance the workplace culture at the Calgary Police Service (CPS). The role focuses on organizational effectiveness & management of corporate projects and change leadership. Primary duties include:

Design and implement innovative programs that positively impact the Calgary Police Service culture.

Take on a champion role to ensure successful implementation of HR strategies and policies within CPS.

Provide support and coaching to leaders and internal Human Resource partners on change management and other corporate initiatives.

Manage corporate projects related to Human Resources Policies.

Advocate and exemplify the Calgary Police values of respect, honesty, compassion, courage, fairness, accountability and integrity.


Degree in Human Resources or a related disciline.

Minimum of 8 years’ experience of directly related experience, preferably in a unionized environment.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation, Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional (CCIP) designation and/or change management certification are considered assets.

Preference will be given to applicants who have experience leading transformational human resource change initiatives and/or has a strong background in policy development.

You will have excellent skills in communication, relationship building, coaching and development, analytical thinking, focusing on results, efficiency and thoroughness and change management.

Compensation: Level E $79,059 -$119,373 per annum

Days of Work: This position works a hybrid Schedule.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
