Student Residences & Ancillary Operations

(Contractual Position to January 10, 2023)

Reporting to the Director of Student Residences, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing a sales and marketing plan and implementing communication strategies that are integrated with the goals of the department and of Memorial University. Duties will be specific to raising the profile and strategically promoting the residence experience for traditional students as well as the growing market of overnight, conference, and travelling guests and visitors. This includes planning, developing, and implementing marketing communications and campaigns using traditional and non-traditional advertising; liaising and building relationships with internal and external partners; taking charge of the digital and web presence to build and support innovative social media strategies; ensuring the establishment and monitoring of accurate information for promotional feeds, events, and activities; and evaluation of the effectiveness and impact of campaigns, activities, and supports; and performing other related duties as required. Flexibility regarding work hours is required, including occasional evening and weekend work.


Experiences (3-5 years) in marketing, communications, or project management; graduation from a fouryear college or university with a degree in business, or similar experience and majority course work in public relations, communications, or marketing; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Knowledge of, and experience in, digital marketing and social media is required. Proven ability to accomplish multiple tasks, to prioritize, and work in a complex environment. Creativity, resourcefulness, organization, and versatile skillsets required. Familiarity with university and post-secondary sector environments considered an asset. Compliance with Memorial’s Procedure for Vaccination Requirement (COVID – 19) is a condition of employment.

SALARY $51,611 – $77,412 per annum (Management and Professional)
