What does SRHR mean? Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.

SRHR Hubs is a simple initiative: we seek to manage a network of locations within Toronto which offer free sexual and reproductive health commodities and information under the outlook of “take what you need and leave what you don’t”. Our hubs can be accessed 24/7 without the stigma that sometimes accompanies sexual and reproductive matters. Anyone will be able to access these hubs and take or leave free items at their own free will. Our locations will be spread across the city of Toronto and relies upon partner individuals, organizations and businesses in the community being willing to host our initiative in their location.

Education is another major component of our outreach work. SRHR Hubs recognizes that providing Torontonians with physical materials is one thing, and education is another. Through our Instagram, we share inclusive information about sexual and reproductive health. We believe sexual health information is one of the key components to empowering Torontonians to make the most informed decisions possible around their sexual wellbeing and reproductive health. As a communications volunteer, you will help create informative content on topics such as HIV testing, reproductive history, menstruation, gender and many more, on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

You will also assist in compiling regular engagement reports, biannual newsletters, and communicating with other team members and community stakeholders about organizational goals. Finally, you will work alongside a team of vibrant young individuals who share your passion for sexual and reproductive freedom. We are proud to have a multidiscipinary team, with a variety of interests, that come together to form the unique voice of SRHR hubs.

This project began as access to sexual and reproductive health information and commodities have been extraordinarily thwarted with the interruptions presented by COVID-19. This initiative is driven by volunteers and community backing and will be made possible through the support of the Canada Service Corps, Taking IT Global and the Government of Canada. If you have any questions, please email Antoaneta (Social Media and Communications Lead) at [email protected] .
