Position Description: Provide leadership and oversight for production and supply operations at the Charlottetown, PEI, Canada vaccine manufacturing site, integrating all functional requirements to ensure customer, quality, regulatory, and safety requirements are met.

Functions, Duties, Tasks:
Establishing and maintaining production and supply chain processes and systems to ensure adherence to Elanco quality systems, safety, and environmental practices as well as EU-GMP regulations.

Accountability for PEI production and the team’s performance including safety, quality, and customer supply.

Providing the site with a clear strategy for alignment with Elanco House of manufacturing standards.

Providing oversight to all aspects of operations at PEI site to ensure scheduled supply of high-quality products meeting customer needs.

Providing strong leadership on Operation Excellence Lean efforts across manufacturing.

Embeds / promotes core competencies for example RCPS, use of KPI’s, Prioritization, WIPCAP and Essential Wins.

Ensuring that operations team business performance, both financially and headcount, meets or exceeds financial commitments. Ensuring appropriate resource allocation, capacity, and prioritization across the teams.

Strong focus on customer service, delivering the supply chain at or above expectation as agreed for the yearly plan, including On Time and In Full (OTIF) commitment.

Responsible for ensuring that the gaps vs core supply chain processes (CORRS), are understood with oversight of a transition plan.

Assuring qualified resources with appropriate education, experience and training are hired and in place to execute the roles and responsibilities of site operations.

Driving effective succession planning processes for key operations positions, including investment in the development of the team’s key talent through the application of HR processes.

Responsible for application of an efficient and fair performance management process across the teams.

Responsible for the notification and representation of business and compliance issues to General Manager and Director of Quality in a timely manner.

Representing Elanco in the community through site efforts.

Experience with leading root cause problem solving teams through large technical issues/problems.

Maintaining strong ties across the Elanco Manufacturing Network with the goal of implementing consistent business/quality processes around the world.

Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):

Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering with 8 to 10 years of demonstrated leadership within a production environment and understanding of production quality systems in a GMP or USDA regulated environment.

Experience in the design, implementation and leadership of process teams and the development of technical capability is essential.

Additional Preferences:
Certified Six Sigma Black or Green Belt preferred.

Must be able to take efficient approaches to trouble shoot and solve problems.

Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders and collaborate for holistic solutions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to communicate and engage with all levels from employees to inspire trust and confidence.

Strong project management skills and effective execution skills to ensure successful delivery/implementation of a range of initiatives and programs.

Comfortable with ambiguity with a solution focused approach, combined with adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and ability to prioritize changing needs and requests.

Must be able to wear required PPE and be able to comply and follow all gowning requirements.
