This is a 1-year full time Lecturer position with the possibility of reappointment.

The School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Lecturer to begin as early as April 30, 2024. The School of Nursing [see http://www.ubc.ca/okanagan/nursing/welcome.html ] is housed within the Faculty of Health and Social Development. The faculty also houses schools of Social Work and Health & Exercise Science. The School of Nursing offers undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs in nursing. In addition to active partnerships with our surrounding communities and Interior Health, our school has international partnerships with schools in Ghana and Zambia.

Applicants must be a Registered Nurse holding current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives, have a minimum of a Master’s degree in nursing or a related discipline, and prior teaching experience in both theory and clinical practice courses. The successful candidate should have a record of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level in 300 and 400 level courses, specifically in child health and cardiac care. The successful candidate should have extensive experience in teaching a broad array of clinical courses and be experienced in mentoring new clinical teachers.

The School Nursing currently has 64 full-time faculty members and instructors, over 600 undergraduate and graduate students, and offers undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees in nursing.

  • Teaching Philosophy Statement
  • Samples of teaching and other relevant materials
  • Statement of undergraduate teaching experience including a list of specific courses taught
  • Summary of peer or student evaluations of teaching (if applicable)

Names of three referees who are able to provide objective evaluations of the applicant’s suitability for the position including objective examples teaching ability and educational leadership.
