New and Experienced teachers who have been actively engaged in ongoing professional development and are excited about making a difference in the lives of young women, in our Reggio-inspired Junior School, are encouraged to apply for the following position for the 2021-22 academic year.Grade 6 Teacher – 100% Teaching Load, 1-Year ContractYour responsibilities as a Junior Division Teacher include collaboratively planning, implementing and assessing a challenging, dynamic inquiry-based program. You will be collaborating with a team teacher and/or specialist teachers and also be involved with co-curricular activities, including academics and athletics. As part of our professional learning community, you will embrace professional learning opportunities, attend faculty planning sessions and Junior School events, such as concerts and other exhibitions of learning, with interest and enthusiasm. Our teachers see themselves as researchers and contribute to the girls’ experience through that work.
A Bachelor of Education, a passion for aligning educational research with classroom practice, the ability to collaborate, multi-task and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment, as well as at least three-five years of experience working at the primary or junior level, are the requirements for this exciting opportunity. You are committed to best practices and have superior academic/teaching track records, appropriate experience, degrees and/or Ontario Teaching Certification. You are passionate about your work and eager to teach as part of a team. You enjoy participating in the life of the school, including co-curricular activities.
