Summer Student Employment Opportunity
Position Duration: 12 weeks Hours of Work: 40 hours/week
Anticipated Start Date: May 10th, 2021 Rate of Pay: $15.00/hour
DUTIES
Greet customers warmly and ensure a satisfying customer experience
Assist customers in loading products into their vehicles
Assist co-workers with keeping yard tidy, safe and functional
Ensure merchandise replenishment for the department under their responsibility
Contribute to rotation, maintenance and quality control for the department under their responsibility
Assist with loading and unloading truck and other vehicles
Prepare orders for delivery, using forklifts if applicable and qualified
Help deliver merchandise to customers, ensuring mannerly interactions at all times
Perform duties using a high attention to safety and damage control both in the lumber yard, while operating trucks and equipment, and at customer delivery locations
Ensure all government and company paperwork is completed as directed and required by law (I.E. Vehicle pre-trip inspections, return books, etc.)
If driving company vehicles, adhere to all laws and company policies
SAFETY COMES FIRST
Comply with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to Health and Safety, Harassment, Loss Prevention, Cell Phone Use, Smoking, etc.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Enjoy physical work (heavy lifting may be required) and DIY Projects
For driving company vehicles, a valid driver’s license and clear 3 year driving record search will be required
Much strive to provide high-quality customer service
Knowledge of building materials will be an asset
Must be eligible for Sagamok Anishnawbek ISETP program funding
Must demonstrate full time enrolment during the 2021/22 academic year in a secondary institute and be returning full time in the 2022/23 academic
Must have, or be willing to obtain Boaters Safety Course
Preference will be given to students in Hospitality
