Our team of health professionals includes employees, doctors, researchers, learners and volunteers that provide the health care or services you may need. This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.

Responsibilities

To perform related laundry functions to ensure that sufficient quantities of clean, finished linen are available to all user departments/nursing units /customers.

  • Sorts and folds clean linen.
  • Delivers carts to and from user departments as directed.
  • Feeds ironer/folder machine as required.
  • Fills and empties dryers.
  • Tops up clean linen carts as per established quotas.
  • Prepares linen packs for CSR department.
  • Weighs clean linen and records weights.
  • Keeps working area tidy and in an organized fashion.
  • Assist with other related duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Grade 10.
  • Previous laundry experience is an asset.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive duties.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.
  • Must be able to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and privacy of NSHA patients and clients.
  • Annually access the training and education on patient, client and personal safety made available by the organization.
  • The successful applicant will have a commitment to the mission and values of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours of Work

Permanent Full-Time position, 75 hours bi-weekly.

Must be able to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Salary Information

$17.0905 – $17.8023 hourly
