This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.
Responsibilities
- Transports patients/clients between nursing units/departments using appropriate transfer method i.e. wheelchair or stretcher.
- Communicates with departments/nursing unites using two (2) way radio technology.
- Works closely with co-workers to ensure effective delivery of service in a team setting.
- Assists with material transport of supplies for the purchasing department as scheduled.
- Picks up and delivers lab specimens and requisitions as scheduled.
- Transports case carts to and from the MDR department to nursing departments and scheduled.
- Transports soiled collection bins to MDR from all departments.
- Delivers pharmacy orders to all units as scheduled.
- Delivers x-ray, EKG, and patient charts as per schedule established.
- Assists only with patients transfers from patient bed to stretcher or wheelchair. Must do this only when nurse/clinician is present.
- Responds in a timely and professional manor to all related calls for porter service and as directed by the Facility Support management.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Qualifications
Grade 12/GED required.
Previous experience in a health care setting is an asset.
Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral requests.
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours of Work
Permanent Full-Time position, 75 hours bi-weekly.
Salary Information
$17.9075- $19.3699 hourly
