D2L is embarking on an entirely new line of business to solve for the growing skills gap in companies globally. We have developed a full-service platform that will enable employers to upskill their current employees to meet the high-demand competencies in today’s workplace through a well-established and highly trusted academic network. There is a significant untapped market potential and D2L is positioned to become the dominant player in this emerging space. We are looking for several highly motivated sales executives to spearhead our initial sales efforts. We are looking for talent that thrives in an entrepreneurial environment to build a “business within a business”.

As our D2L Wave Sales Executive you are knowledgeable and capable sales executive with a track record of selling high-value complex solutions to the Human Resources, Learning & Development professionals of varying sized corporations. You will formally report to the VP Advanced Technology Sales and take a hands-on approach to building the business in this progressive, fast-paced and high-profile job.

You will spend the majority of your time developing and cultivating prospects while moving them through the sales process, closing new business and building and managing relationships with key corporate clients. Increasingly and quickly, as you grow the business, you will have significant career progression opportunities in either enterprise sales or management streams.

You will possess a deep working knowledge of the Learning & Development and/or HR Benefits business.

HOW WILL I MAKE AN IMPACT?

Full cycle sales (prospecting to close) targeting Canadian companies with 500<>4,999 employees

Closing 40+ new logos per year

Sell to C-level, VP and HR benefit leaders a strategic approach to employee upskilling while streamlining their tuition reimbursement management processes

Work closely and frequently with sales and marketing leadership to refine a velocity-based adoption sales model (land and expand)

Be nimble and entrepreneurial in a quickly changing startup environment within a larger, more established company

Develop a strategic sales plan for your assigned territory

Conduct virtual/in-person presentations and product demos as part of the sales process

Attend training events throughout the year and participate in self-paced tutorial learning when appropriate

Be well informed about current industry trends and speak intelligently about the corporate vertical in the assigned area/region

Effectively using the sales CRM tool (Salesforce) and/or sales outreach tool (Outreach) to enter all sales information into these systems

Prepare written presentations, reports and proposals

Conduct contract negotiations

Build and manage a quantifiable 12-month sales pipeline

Effectively and efficiently deploy D2L resources at appropriate stages in the sales cycle to advance the sales process

Develop positive relationships with other employees in Marketing, Professional Services, Finance, Engineering and other departments as needed

Travel up to 25% of the time (post COVID environment depending)

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE:
3+ years’ sales experience in the education technology industry and/or selling enterprise software and solutions

Must have strong understanding of enterprise software sales cycles and dealing with top decision makers

Knowledge of corporate eLearning and Learning & Development industry strongly preferred

Track record of successful achievement of assigned quotas

Ability to manage a pipeline of 50+ accounts at any given time

Ability to work in a team environment

Must possess strong leadership, motivational, and presentation skills

Proven success prospecting, building a pipeline, moving opportunities through the sales cycle; proposing, presenting and discussing solutions with C-level and other decision-makers

Ability to craft a solution with appropriate products and services that meets business goals based on client discussions

Working knowledge of web and database technology

Must be able to travel 25%+

Completed degree

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree recommended (technical, business or education-related is ideal)
