INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT, ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES
LEARNER EXPERIENCE
NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for people dedicated to making a difference to join our Accessibility Services team as Instructional Assistants. We’re seeking some adaptable and innovative individuals to provide learning assistance, online support and/or classroom support to visually impaired students. This important role works closely with the classroom instructor to adapt and modify the online and in-class instructional material as needed and will collaborate with Assistive Technology and the Accessibility Advisors to ensure supports for students.
This position involves unique challenges in supporting a visually impaired student in their classroom work and learning overall in a primarily online learning environment and will provide an opportunity to gain valuable experience working with:

Provide one-to-one support to students with disabilities in the classroom (virtual and in person)
Contribute to case conferencing of students registered with Accessibility Services
Contribute to the growth of Accessibility Services through team meetings and discussions
Perform other administrative, operational, and promotional duties as assigned
What you bring
A two-year post-secondary diploma
3 – 5 years related experience
Previous experience in an adult educational setting
Ability to follow and implement best practice guidelines

Considerable knowledge of policies and procedures within a post-secondary environment
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook); comfortable and adaptable to other computer applications
SALARY: $25.11 – $32.64 reflective upon what you bring – AKA your education and experience
This position is a casual assignment, so the time commitment will vary. It is also eligible for an additional 11.2% to compensate for holiday time.
