Purpose:
Reporting directly to the Public Health Nurse, Case & Contact Coordinators will support York University’s response to student COVID-19 case and limited contact management. Support is provided to all York University students: those that come for in-person activity or instruction, students living on campus, and students fully accessing virtual learning with no footprint our campuses. Coordinators will help identify and manage COVID-19 cases and support limited contact tracing by conducting interviews of students with confirmed or probable exposure to the virus. Education:
Undergraduate degree or Diploma. Proficiency with use of computers, Microsoft Office 365, and Excel.
Experience:
Experience in interviewing and counseling students within a case management and limited contact tracing capacity. Experience in a computerized environment. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a healthcare related field related.
Skills:
Demonstrated emotional intelligence, empathy and communication skills. Strong problem-solving, collaboration, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Knowledge of COVID19, infection prevention and control practices. Knowledge of PHIPA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to fluently speak, read and write in English. Ability to work in high stress fast paced environment required.
Additional Notes:
Due to current COVID19 restrictions, candidates may be required to work remotely. The incumbent shall comply with all health and safety policies and practices for this position and the workplace.

- Compensation:
York implemented a revised CPM Compensation Framework in 2019. The Framework is a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.
