Academic part-time GENS 2881 – Traditional Ecological Knowledge

The Department of Geography and Environment at Mount Allison University invites

applications for a stipendiary (part-time) position to teach “Traditional Ecological

Knowledge” (GENS 2881), a 2nd year undergraduate course. This course is intended to

explore Traditional Ecological Knowledge and investigate the ways in which Indigenous

scientific knowledge and ways of knowing and Western scientific knowledge and ways

of knowing complement one another. The class is scheduled for the 2022 winter term,

and will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The approximate class size is 38

students.

The successful applicant will preferably hold a PhD in Environmental Science,

Indigenous Studies, Anthropology, Biology, or a related field, or be near completion of

such.
