CDI is seeking a Researcher II to join our dynamic research team. The incumbent will work collaboratively with the supervisor to ensure data and research service activities are completed in a comprehensive manner. Internally, conducts themselves in an effective professional manner regarding various research activities within the framework of the Institutes stated vision, mission, values and goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research, Analyses, Publication, and Dissemination.
- Conducts all research activities.
- Conducting literature reviews and needs assessments.
- Prepares research and clinic related proposals for external funding.
- Conducts qualitative and/or quantitative research.
- Responsible for all phases of data collection up to and including statistical and narrative reports.
- Responsible for the creation of datasets, coding, and direct data entry or oversight of direct data entry activities.
- Responsible for implementing evaluation/research protocols.
- Summarize findings for professional and lay audiences.
- Prepares manuscripts for submission in academic journals; prepares user-friendly summaries of research findings in the form of research briefs, executive summaries, newsletters and related web-based content.
- Supervised by Senior Manager of Research and/or Research Manager and/or Director of Research and is accountable to the relevant clinical managers.
- Demonstrates ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members, managers and government personnel.
- Excellent oral, written and communication skills.
- In collaboration with supervisor, may support volunteers or students from time to time.
- Assumes other such responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- A Master’s Degree in social sciences other related field, or equivalent.
- 2 years but less than 5 years related experience or equivalent.
- Clinical training and/or experience considered an asset.
- Understanding of information management systems and research and/or program evaluation design, methodologies, and concepts.
- Advanced knowledge in computer software and database utilization/management (i.e. MS Excel, SPSS).
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (advanced in MS Excel).
- Proficient with common statistical software and visualization or programming (e.g. SPSS, Power BI, R, Python)
- Possess strong verbal and written communication and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multi task, probe, analyze and problem solve issues.
- Strong analytical abilities, organizational, problem solving and decision making skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Be a dedicated and flexible team player able to interact with team members, and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a respectful manner with groups from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Working Conditions
- Governed by concurrent and dynamic deadlines, despite conflicting priorities and frequent interruptions.
- Flexible work schedule to accommodate job responsibilities, including potential to work some evenings as needed.
- Work will take place from home for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.
