The ideal candidate will possess a relevant combination of education and experience including:
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
- A Master of Education (Adult Education) is considered and asset.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional design and current teaching methodologies
- Experience writing learning outcomes and with new course development
- Knowledge of adult education principles and adult learning theory
- Experience with incorporating technology into curriculum and the learning experience
- An understanding of and commitment to equity in education; ability to work with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to deliver effective presentations
- Strong leadership competencies, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated desktop literacy skills including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software
- Ability to work independently as well as within a self-directed team environment
- An active sense of curiosity, a strong enthusiasm for learning, personal and professional flexibility and a willingness to innovate and apply new teaching techniques in dynamic learning environments
