Job Information

The Sahtu Divisional Education Council is seeking an energetic, collaborative, and highly motivated JK / K Teacher for a term position, beginning August 30, 2021.

The candidate must have or be completing a Bachelor of Education degree and be eligible for a Northwest Territories Teaching Certificate.

The following criteria will be important considerations in the hiring process:

Willingness and skill to implement best practices in early elementary teaching and a thorough understanding of play-based, inquiry-based, and competency-based teaching and learning

Willingness and skill to infuse Dene Kede language and culture throughout classroom activities as a co-learner and lead learner in the classroom

Deep understanding of inclusive and trauma-informed practices with mindfulness and self-regulation as foundational to classroom culture

Strong collaboration skills as teachers work together to improve students’ holistic outcomes

Embrace strong connections with community and be open to engage fully in the rich cultural and extracurricular life of the school

Chief T’Selehye School (JK – 12) – Fort Good Hope.

Teacher (1.0 Term) – Anticipated start date: August 30
