The Ministry of Advanced Education’s Strategy, Planning, and Sector Engagement Branch is seeking a motivated, results-oriented individual with expertise to lead, co-ordinate and perform research and analysis in the areas of planning, accountability, evaluation and policy development. The Ministry is seeking an individual to fill a term Senior Planning and Evauation Consultant/Policy Analyst position. The term is to start as soon as possible until April 30, 2023.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of the Corporate Planning and Evaluation Unit. You will provide strategic advice, data manipulation and analysis on a wide range of data and information to support executive decision making; track and report ministry progress both within government and publicly; conduct primary and secondary research; and support ministry planning processes through research, analysis and the preparation of briefing materials and presentations.

In this role you will:
be responsible for providing analysis of complex policy issues through the application of qualitative and quantitative data, research and evaluation methodologies and statistics;

make a critical contribution to the achievement of the Ministry’s policy, planning and accountability proccess;

lead and participate in work teams to develop policies, proposals, and oversee implementation of key Ministry projects;

consistently provide clear, concise verbal and written advice to the Ministry’s senior management; and

collaborate effectively with colleagues, other government officials and the post-secondary sector.

Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through graduate level studies, supplemented with job-related experience. Experience in and an in-depth understanding of post secondary education in Saskatchewan and across Canada will be a significant asset in this position.

Hours of Work: A – SGEU Office 36 – one day off every two weeks
