The Chinook School Division No. 211 is seeking a dynamic, solution focused leader for a senior administrative leadership position beginning August 1, 2021. The Chinook School Division is proud to serve southwest Saskatchewan’s approximately 6,000 students with collegial, student centered teachers and support staff. Our team operates 62 schools – 30 Public and 32 Hutterian, located from the Cypress Hills, to the South Saskatchewan River, through the City of Swift Current, on to Hodgeville, and down to the Grasslands National Park.
Some aspects of the positions include:
Playing a key role in the Senior Leadership Team
Acting as the Instructional Leader for a cluster of schools
Responsibility for the day to day operations and supervision of a core group of schools and personnel
Visibility and leadership in the assigned cluster of schools
Assessing existing programs and services then advocating and implementing appropriate changes or enhancements to these programs and services
Understand best practices on effects of actions and duties, as they impact on student learning and the professional activities of staff
Knowledge and awareness of trends and needs in the education of students
To apply you should have:
Qualifications for LEADS membership
Minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience in addition to two (2) years in an administrative role
Demonstrated knowledge of Saskatchewan Curriculum and Ministry of Education initiatives
Knowledge of best practices in educational leadership, professional learning communities, assessment, effective schools research and application to the work of school based administration
Demonstrated knowledge of Saskatchewan Curriculum and Ministry of Educationinitiatives
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member
Demonstrated ability to establish a rapport with and act as a role model for administration and staff
Demonstrated ability to supervise, plan, and facilitate meetings as well as professional growth opportunities
Superior interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Valid Driver’s license
Initiative with the ability to work independently and produce results under pressure
High degree of discretion and personal integrity with the ability to safeguard sensitive and controversial matters in a confidential manner
