The successful candidate will have expertise in stem cell biology, molecular biology techniques and cell-based assays development, while experience in animal models of diseases will also be an asset. This position requires an individual with excellent communication skills, with a high degree of independence and who can demonstrate a track record of research productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Design and lead multiple projects, conduct, and analyze the relevant experiments
- Foster collaboration within the team and with external research partners
- Lead manuscript preparation and create presentations for internal and external meetings
- Participate in research funding initiatives
- Maintain compliance with laboratory operations and SOPs, ensure integrity of documentation on lab experiments, data collection and analysis
- Support and contribute to peer-led research projects being conducted in the lab
Basic Requirements:
- PhD in Cell Biology, Immunology, Molecular and Cell Biology, or Medical Science (or related field of study)
- Candidates must have completed their PhD less than 5 years ago
- Demonstrated proficiency in independently designing and conducting research studies
- Experience in cell biology and related technologies
- Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to excel in leading independent projects, as well as, collaborating in a multi-disciplinary research environment
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to multi-task, manage a dynamic workload and learn new techniques and procedures
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience working with primary cells and/or animal disease models
- Excellent lab documentation practices
Contract Details:
This is a 1-year full-time contract with the possibility of renewal.
The minimum stipend is $20.513 (salary is based on research experience) with an excellent benefit package
