About the Opportunity
General Obstetrician-Gynaecologist, Assistant/Associate Professor
Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, IWK Health, Nova Scotia Health & Dalhousie University
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dalhousie University, invite applications for up to two full-time positions as General Obstetrician Gynaecologists. The successful applicants will be based within the Women’s and Newborn Health Program of IWK Health in Halifax, Nova Scotia with their clinics located in either the Halifax or Dartmouth sites. Faculty members report to the Department Head. The successful candidates will hold clinical academic appointments with Dalhousie University. Academic rank will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
The candidates would be expected to be innovative educators involved with postgraduate and undergraduate medical education and have an active interest in clinical or basic research
Faculty members are expected to assume some administrative responsibilities
Qualifications
Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) or equivalent certification and have strong surgical skills
The department will give preference to applicants with experience and expertise in gynaecologic surgery including urogynecology and minimally invasive surgery
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with their peers
