Black River Anishinabe School is a new well-equipped Kindergarten to Grade 10 school located on the
banks of the O’Hanly and Black Rivers along the eastern shore of Lake Winnipeg, 150 kilometers northeast
of Winnipeg. The community has a population of approximately 1,000 people with community services
such as general store/gas bar, health centre.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education Degree
- Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
- A sound knowledge of provincial Physical Education curricula
- Previous Physical Education teaching experience
- Strong classroom management skills
- Experience working in a northern community
- Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life
- Experience working with students with unique needs
- A commitment to differentiated instruction
- A willingness to inquire into best practices and reflect on practices
- A team player committed to the belief that all students can learn
- Self-motivated
