Génome Québec is seeking candidate for a Laboratory Technician at the Génome Québec Centre expertise et de services located at CHU Sainte-Justine.
You will be part of the most stimulating genomic projects from St-Lawrence beluga genome sequencing to detection of mutations in subjects involved in a clinical research as well as unfolding the sequence of a new virus.

Reporting to the Manager of the Array Technology Unit, the Laboratory Technician performs laboratory procedures primarily using standardized technologies and coordinates activities and projects pertaining to various technologies in order to produce superior quality results that ensure the full satisfaction of service users.
Workplace : Montreal (Qc)
Responsabilities
Perform genetic material extractions and quality control
Methodically follow standard operating procedures
Operate standardized laboratory manipulations on users’ samples
Solve simple problems
Maintain inventory, prepare periodic reports and place purchase requisitions
Perform maintenance on certain analytical devices and instruments
Keep a complete laboratory notebook up to date
Fill the Nanuq database and project tracking files
Qualifications
College degree in Laboratory Techniques or Bachelor’s degree in Science
Minimum lab work experience in molecular biology
Bilingual — The working language at Génome Québec is French.

A high-degree of skill and accuracy with low-volume and multichannel pipetting
