Under the direct responsibility of the Room Division Manager, you will supervise and direct all operations related to cleanliness and cleaning.
Summary
In charge of all aspects of the department, the Housekeeping Director is responsible for coordinating the activities of his department with the activities of the hotel. Generally speaking, this position is in charge of recruiting, training, supervising staff, planning schedules, making inventories and purchases as well as ensuring that standards are met. You will work closely with administration, reception and food & beverage for requirements planning. As the industry changes, the responsibilities of this position will change and evolve accordingly.
Job description
Perform inspections of rooms and public spaces
Ensures the high level of cleanliness of the facilities at all times
Establish / adhere to the department’s budget
Manage and supervise a team
Train, motivate and evaluate employees
Plan and distribute tasks to unionized and non-unionized employees
Create and enforce schedules, manage vacations
Manage stocks of cleaning products and make purchases
Ensure that the rules and procedures are followed
Engage in regular coaching, performance management and discipline
Ensure adequate application of the guidelines of the collective agreement
Supervise payroll and forecast the needs of the resources required to achieve objectives
Participate in health and safety activities
Plan staffing needs and hire
Facilitate daily meetings
Manage inventory and dispose of unused equipment
Centralize products in order to reduce storage spaces to a minimum
Manage third parties such as dry cleaning and laundry companies and night cleaners

College diploma in hotel management – Asset
