Description
POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:
- Assist in implementing a summer program for children ages 6-11
HOURS:
- This is a temporary full-time position from late June until mid-August, Monday through Friday for 35 hours a week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the health, safety, emotional wellness and personal development of campers
- Guide the spiritual growth of campers through love, understanding, patience and example
- Maintain and enforce the rules and regulation of camping program at all times
- Complete thorough incident and accident reports and submit to Program Coordinator for review as soon as possible
- Actively participate in recreational activities and facilitate them, as required
- Assist with camp clean-up at the end of each week as well as daily COVID-19 cleaning
- Attend applicable trainings, staff meetings and weekly de-brief sessions
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children, families and co-workers
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certifications:
- Completed 1-3 years of High-School and be between the ages of 15-30
- First Aid Training an Asset
- Must have a clear and current Criminal Record Check
Experience:
- Prior experience working with children and activity planning will be an asset
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Background check consent
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clean drivers abstract
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
