KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Camp Coordinator in administering records, policies and procedures
- Develop, coordinate and support media platforms
- Assist Camp Coordinator with program creation, promotion and implementation
- Assist Camp Coordinator with responding to parent question and concerns
- Assist with registering campers and maintain registration records
- Serve as first contact for families and other inquiries throughout the summer
- Attend meetings and staff training as required
- Coordinate with the Camp Coordinator
- Order supplies for all camp programming and activities as needed/requested
- Manage logistics for all camp trips/outings
- Prepare with the attendance lists and tracking attendance (sign in/sign out sheets/Bus Lists)
- Manage camp office
- Assist with financial tracking and recording
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- The successful candidate must meet the requirements under the Canada Summer Jobs Program
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusively) at the time of intake/selection
- Able to work within a Christian atmosphere and to promote the goals of the program and the mission of the Salvation Army
- Must have excellent written, verbal and computer skills (this includes but not limited to video editing)
- Organized, hardworking, dedicated, creative, and possess leadership qualities
- Experienced in working with children
- Have own computer with reliable internet connection, as file access and meetings may take place online
- Able to work well independently and as a team player
Successful candidate will be required to provide upon hiring:
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clear internal abuse registry check
- Participate in our online Armatus Abuse Training and Health and Safety training required upon hiring
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
- Standard First Aid and CPR (an asset but not required)
- Experience in working with children (an asset but not required)
- Knowledge of Korean and/or Farsi language (an asset but not required)
HOURS: 15 hours per week (May – June) and 30 – 40 hours per week (July – August)
