Course Lecturer – ITAL 375 001 – Summer 2021

Teaching Qualification Requirements:
PhD in Italian studies or registered in a PhD program in Italian Studies. Expertise in Italian Cinema.

Teaching experience in Italian Studies, preferably in Italian Film, either as Instructor or Teaching Assistant.

Native or near native command of Italian and English.

A Course assignment includes all or part of the following teaching activities:

a) preparation of the Course and Course plan;

b) delivery of the Course;

c) evaluation of students;

d) submitting to the University a report on student attendance and student grades;

e) supervision of Teaching Assistants or any other teaching support staff;

f) upon request, review of their students’ grades;

g) meeting with students, being available to answer questions and give advice concerning Course content and requirements;

Employees shall perform their duties in compliance with the Pedagogical Regulation and as specified in the administrative directives of the Hiring Unit. An Employee shall use appropriate pedagogical methods and material.

Please note that given the current circumstances, courses will be taught remotely/online. The course lecturer will be required to prepare and deliver teaching material suited to a remote/online teaching environment using a virtual learning platform [e.g., Zoom, WebEx] and the McGill MyCourses learning management system. Training and assistance on remote teaching is available through Teaching and Learning Services.
