Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for general maintenance and minor repairs to the Hotel and its surrounding grounds.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures efficient and effective performance of the maintenance department.

Oversees, develops, and supports the maintenance team.

Communicates with other departments effectively.

Inspects public areas daily for any deficiencies.

Responds to customer or maintenance inquiries/requests in a pleasant, timely, and efficient manner.

Completes work order requests in an efficient manner.

Maintains all mechanical areas in an orderly and clean condition.

Provides maintenance repairs to guestrooms, public areas and administrative offices.

Repairs may include (but are not limited to) plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, ventilation, furnishings and fixtures, painting, wall cover repairs, light carpentry, door and window repairs

Respond to or perform duties of a groundskeeper.

Perform other duties as required in all areas of the property.

Monitors shared staff accommodations reviewing units for maintenance repairs

Conducts performance reviews and performance management when required

Maintains departmental budget controlling costs.

Conducts departmental meetings

Participates in H&S meetings.

Prerequisites:
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Hotel Maintenance professional with extensive knowledge in hotel operations and OH&S.

Education:
A university or college degree in hotel management is an asset.

Experience:
The successful candidate will require 3-5 years experience in Hotel Maintenance and must have above average building operations knowledge; not limited to drywall and painting, minor plumbing repairs, small equipment and tool operations, HVAC and small appliance repairs. This position is very physical requiring candidates to be able to reach, bend, twist, pull, lift, carry, push, stand or walk repetitively with ease or for extended periods.
