The Digital Platforms and Data Division (DPDD) provides corporate leadership, services and policy development that enables government and the public to make informed, evidence-based decisions. Key programs enable cross-government policy development (Data Science Partnerships) and the integration, access and analysis of public sector data (Data Innovation and DataBC). The division also leads the implementation of the Province’s open data initiative and helps program areas across government connect to tech sector innovation through the Start Up in Residence program.

The Policy Analyst works in a high-profile, dynamic, results-oriented environment on challenging projects with significant cross-government impact. The position leverages a multidisciplinary skillset in policy analysis, strategy development, design thinking and technology to help architect important initiatives that will help transform and modernize government. The position will coordinate and lead research, analysis, development and implementation of strategies, strategic policies and legislation for government’s Digital Strategy

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

Degree in business administration, public administration, or equivalent.

Minimum 1 year of experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.

Minimum 1 year of experience managing projects and/or project components.

Preference may be given to applicants with experience in data management legislation, policy, or governance.

Preference may be given to applicants with experience writing briefing notes, preparing presentation decks for executive level audiences, and drafting whitepapers and discussion papers.
