ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN II

Temporary Full Time Position
(Approximately 8 months)

The Transportation and Development Services Division oversees the design and installation of municipal owned and 3rd party infrastructure within municipal rights-of- way. Working under the direction of a senior technician, the Engineering Technician II performs technical work related to municipal engineering. Duties include reviewing and responding to inquiries received from the public, reviewing and approving development related permits, reviewing design drawings and constructed works, and providing technical support to more senior staff.

Requirements include a two year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution; three months of related experience; eligible for registration with the Applied Science Technologies and Technicians of BC; conversant with computer based engineering applications and a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence with a personal vehicle available for use as and when required. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
