Senior Business Analyst

The Strategic and Corporate Services Department – Information Technology Division, requires a regular full-time Senior Business Analyst. This position will be a key resource in our projects to enhance our City’s enterprise applications. As an innovative member of the Business Applications team you will leverage your proven business analysis skills to gather user requirements, evaluate business requests, and provide recommendations for new and existing applications, in addition to providing guidance for sunsetting applications. You are experienced with creating supporting documentation such as use cases, system diagrams, charts and backlog stories.
Reporting to the Manager, Applications and GIS Services, you will draw on your project management expertise to work with both Waterfall and Agile projects. You enjoy technology, stakeholder engagement, relationship building, and bringing business value and enhancements to teams. Your strong and proven interpersonal abilities and positive energy in facilitating projects will allow you to forge collaborative working relationships and ensure success in this position.
You will possess a diploma/degree in computer science or a related discipline, with at least three years’ work experience in a similar position, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Sound knowledge of systems and relational databases, T-SQL, and project management, would be assets. Scrum master experience would be an advantage. In addition, a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is required.
Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable skills and knowledge.
Salary:
$44.78 to $52.91 per hour
(Pay Grade 28 – January 2021 rates)
Hours of Work:
Required hours may consist of any 7 consecutive hours between 7:00am and 11:00pm, Monday to Friday, and may also include an occasional shift on weekends or evenings. The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) in approximately each three-week scheduling cycle.
