Position: Executive Director

About Active Care Services:
Active Care Youth and Adult Services is a progressive, innovative organization operating residential resources for children, youth and adults in BC. Active Care has been operating staffed residential resources in Kamloops for 25 years. It is our mandate to provide innovative support services of exceptional quality and to do so in the context of a family home environment.

Goals, Growth and Development:
Our Agency has seen tremendous growth in the last 4 years going from 60 employees to 200 in the Province of BC. We have also diversified the agency’s services in the past year that allow for even more opportunity as an Organization. We are looking for experienced, motivated, and committed individuals with strong work ethics and compassionate hearts who are looking to create a career that is both financially rewarding and professionally fulfilling. In the Province of BC, we currently operate 35 family style staffed resources for our youths & adults. Our organization’s goal is to support and develop relationships with communities of Kamloops, Vernon, Kelowna, Prince Rupert and Terrace.

Leadership Roles and Responsibilities within Active Care Services:

Executive Directors provide training, support and guidance to Regional Directors, Team Leaders, Program Coordinators, Lead Support Workers, and Frontline Youth Care Workers. Executive Directors additionally support and take on delegated tasks delivered by Ownership and Stakeholders. Collaborating with Ownership, Executive Directors and Regional Directors in designing and coordinating specialized youth programs from substance reduction/behavioral management and programming for children and youth with support needs. Working side by side with Resource Departments for agencies all over BC, building community relationships with partners to add value when serving our clients. Providing leadership and mentoring for all employees at Active Care. Professionalism, organization, and communication are some of the most important skills when fulfilling your role as an Executive Director for Active Care Services. However, leading is the most important skill to ensure that our standards are being met and that we provide the best care we can for the youth and adults in our care, while teaching and modelling relationship building skills to our staff and our persons in care as it takes a “village”.
