This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Assistant Manager the Maintenance Worker 3A is responsible for all outside grounds maintenance including grass cutting, snow removal, salt/sand spreading, general maintenance on equipment IE: Washers/Dryers/Ice Machines etc. Light carpentry, electrical and plumbing duties along with painting and sheet rock repairs. Perform all Preventative Maintenance duties & all other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or GED equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of maintenance experience required.
  • Travel to other sites may be required. Valid Driving’s License and must have access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Must be within 20 minutes response time from hospital.
  • Completion of scaffolding and confined spaces or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to do shift work.
  • General knowledge of ventilation and hot water boiling system.
  • Must perform preventive maintenance and other maintenance duties (painting, basic pumping principles, and basic electrical and carpentry skills).
  • Ability to provide on-call coverage as required.
  • Ability to complete tasks with a minimum of direct supervision.
  • Ability to operate a farm tractor.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment and also effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Salary Information

$20.3648 – $23.1417 hourly
