POSITION OVERVIEW
We have an exciting temporary one-year position for a Human Resources Coordinator.

Join our outstanding HR team and help make the employee experience a great one! As the Human Resources Coordinator, you will provide general HR guidance and services to City departments on recruitment & selection of employees.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, Integrated Talent Management, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for facilitating full-cycle recruitment activities including drafting job postings, making recommendations on placement and content of advertisements, providing input and facilitation on the inclusion of assessment tools such as police information checks, references, pre-screening, interviewing questions, and closing of competitions and file management.

The position will coordinate a variety of Human Resources support services and functions which include responding to inquiries and providing information to Managers, employees and the public regarding employment opportunities and on Human Resources functions. The Human Resources Coordinator will provide clear and consistent information and explanations regarding Human Resources related policies, procedures, and Collective Agreement language. The position will exercise independence of judgment and will require considerable knowledge of Human Resources functions, policies and procedures. 

You have experience in general HR functions within both a non-union and union environment. A post-secondary degree in HR or Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A CPHR designation is an asset. You have strong communication/interpersonal skills, enjoy solving problems with a coaching approach, and focus on customer service. You are detail-oriented and superbly organized.
