The Director of Patient Support Services will foster a culture of commitment to a best-in-class customer service experience through the delivery of services that improve and enhance the stay of patients and visitors alike. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Patient Care Services & MH Site Lead, the Director will advance the organization’s mission of creating a new kind of health care for a healthier community through service excellence and innovation of the Patient Support Services portfolio of Nutrition and Food Services, Portering, Waste Management, Patient Care Assistants, Environmental Services, and the Mailroom. The Director will provide strategic direction, leadership and guidance to these teams to ensure the highest quality of patient and visitor experience as well as other support service-related functions across our sites and advise on areas of operational expertise across the organization. You are an inspiring, energetic, empathetic strategic thinker, with the ability to work in partnership with all stakeholders to ensure safe, healthy and environmentally sensitive services and a healing environment for patients, visitors, staff and volunteers.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished leader of people and teams and brings a track record of successfully managing a department that provides support to patient-centred care focused on safety, customer service, and the patient experience. Coming from a hospital setting or similar size healthcare organization, you bring 5+ years of leadership experience in a unionized environment, have a strong understanding of Health and Nutrition standards and expectations, and demonstrate strong knowledge and experience of codes, standards and practices relating to infection control and medical waste management. Above all else, you are a team player, who fostered collaboration and growth within your teams, embraces the diversity of your team, and manages in an inclusive and supportive manor.
