PRINCIPAL
George O’Neill Public School is an elementary school located in Nipigon, Ontario. The community is located on the edge of the Nipigon River and south of Lake Helen. The school’s approximately 145 students have access to a morning nutrition program and many extra-curricular activities that enhance the student’s educational experience. Students are support by 10 educators and additional school support staff. The Red Rock Indian Band is a strong partner with the school. George O’Neill Public School has also partnered with Hockey Canada and Hockey Northwestern Ontario to provide its students with a Hockey Canada Skills Academy program. The program is open to all students in grades 4 to 8 and operates during the school day from October to March each year. We would happily welcome you to our team!
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have superior academic, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, along with demonstrated leadership and expertise in educational administration. The individual will exhibit a high level of energy, enthusiasm and have the necessary skills to maximize community involvement.
Valid Ontario College of Teachers’ Certificate of Qualification, in good standing, indicating the applicant holds Principal Qualifications or a definite plan to obtain same within a reasonable period of time. Applicants without Principal Qualifications must submit a written plan, including timelines to obtain Principal Qualifications with their application. Applicants require qualifications in Special Education.
