JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the VP Infrastructure & Operations, the Director IT Operations & Platform Support is responsible for all IT related operations used to enable business capabilities and services throughout the organization.
The Director IT Operations & Platform Support brings current knowledge and future vision for the function including its strategy, service offerings and workforce. The Director is a senior stakeholder in all relationships with externally sourced infrastructure and operations capabilities.
As a key member of the senior I&O leadership team this role contributes to the development and execution of the I&O strategy and is responsible for ensuring the Operations & Platform Support team is aligned to positioning I&O to deliver compelling busines value.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with the VP Infrastructure & Operations and other senior stakeholders to shape our I&O Strategy
Improve functional and organization performance through the application of original thinking to existing and emerging methods, processes, products and services
Works with the VP Infrastructure & Operations on the service portfolio and governance required to prioritize resources, including budget
Collaborates with the Information Security team to ensure IT Operations embrace and apply the security strategy
Provides oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management
Define and report on operations KPIs and metrics that represent progress against goals
Create a broad network of business relationships to strengthen our understanding of the market and best practice, and industry trends
Partner with the HR function to build talent within the function
KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES:
Degree in computer science or a technology-related field, or equivalent work- or education-related experience
Minimum of 7 – 10 years of previous experience in technology operations, infrastructure management (at least three must be in a senior leadership role)
Experience managing budgets over $10M and administrative management and team development of at least 15 staff
Up-to-date knowledge of methodologies and trends in both business and IT
Proven track record for developing, managing, measuring, improving, and scaling infrastructure, technology operations, and technology service delivery functions. Performing these functions within an ITIL based structure is a must
Excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives
Strong experience in managing third-party relationships
