Social Sciences Teacher

The School is currently looking to fill the following position for September 2021.

As teaching assignments will include Economics and Business courses, the successful candidate will be a member of the Ontario College of Teachers with a strong university background and/or first-hand employment experience in these fields. Interest and demonstrated aptitude in teaching politics and/or accounting is considered an asset. We seek an educator who has a demonstrated passion for student-centred teaching at the secondary level (Grades 9-12) who employs various pedagogical approaches to engage a range of student abilities. Candidates from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Working within a lively community of students and educators, the position requires energy, creativity, organizational skills, collegiality and a strong commitment to continual improvement. The candidate will be familiar with current pedagogical trends, have a track record of creating a professional, positive learning environment that accommodates diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences, and actively engages all students in the learning process. The selected candidate will also have thorough competency in the integration of technology in the classroom.

The successful candidate will be a core member of the social sciences department and will be fully engaged in the co-curricular life of the School. While the School has robust arts and service learning programs, preference will go to those candidates with coaching or varsity-level athletic experience.
