Position Summary

The Door Entry Screener has an important role within the health care team during an emergency. They are responsible for providing directions including asking screening questions at site entrances for appropriate purpose and destination within the site.

The key responsibilities are as follows:
Greets all visitors to the site, including staff, patients and public

Asks specific COVID-19 screening questions in order to appropriately redirect

Assist site and programs to maintain access control at site entrances

Ensures appropriate infection control measures are adhered to

Ensures supplies are available (i.e. sanitizer, masks, etc.)

Must provide professional representation of organization

Provides information with site orientation

Provides information with visitor restrictions

Assists with other tasks where instruction is provided

Hours of Work

Various shifts, between 0630 and 2300; including weekends and holidays

Qualifications

Grade 12 or equivalent

Previous experience in a health care setting or volunteer capacity preferred

Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills to deal with patients, staff, public, and referral sources

Professional, courteous and calm demeanor

Knowledge of infection control procedures preferred

Commitment to high-quality care and patient safety

Competencies in other languages an asset
