Research Assistant: Contract Position

The Atlantic Provinces Economic Council (APEC) is looking for a research assistant to support our ongoing analysis of Atlantic Canada’s economy and in-depth research on various economic topics. This position is for 3 months. However, there is a possibility of a longer-term position for the successful applicant following completion of this contract.

Responsibilities

Economic research, including data compilation, analysis and report writing.

Qualifications

Recent university graduate from a masters or undergraduate economics program

Highly numerate with strong Excel background

Excellent writing and oral communication skills

Well-organized with careful attention to detail

Previous research experience greatly valued

Knowledge of the Atlantic Canadian economy is an asset

This is a remote-working opportunity. The candidate must have access to a reliable personal computer, high speed Internet, and the ability to videoconference via Zoom or MS Teams.

Duration

June 1 to August 13, 2021 (approximately 13 weeks), 37.5 hours per week.

Wage rate

$21-25/hour depending on qualifications and relevant research experience
