JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Verify that all required legal documents are received, including verification against logging location carried out by the relevant team within CTM. Upload and maintain documents in the internal database.

• Monitor and update the legal monitoring log of the contract.

• Participation in responding to various audits, including internal and external audits as well as regulatory reviews

• Entry/validation and monitoring covenants for financing products.

• Prepare monthly notification to account managers for searches and continuations of security interests.

• Prepare, classify and monitor real security

• Review of legal documentation for possible promissory notes to be announced to the Federal Reserve (BIC) and retention of documents

• Review and distribution of daily and monthly default and exception reports, as well as additional reports as required.

• Respond to requests for legal documents and records and related questions.

• Monitor the entry and exit of share certificates into the vault

• Reconcile exceptions and defects in documentation, clauses and guarantees within ITO CTM and the profession

• Log, index, documentation of files and archives in banking systems

• Investigate and respond to subpoena searches requested by the Legal Department

• Maintain strong communications and partnerships within ITO CTM, Risk and Account Executives.

• Participate in cross-training to improve knowledge, contributions and synergies between teams.

• Identify ways to improve and create efficiencies

• Assist in the training of new team members

• Other tasks assigned

The assets and skills that will make you successful

  • Noting that the vast majority of our customers, both internal and external, are located outside Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of English is required.

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience specializing in corporate banking documentation and/or documentation control experience in a commercial bank.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Analytical and detailed

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks, work within time constraints and take ownership of task completion.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment in the face of unforeseen circumstances while adhering to established policies and controls.

  • Experience in middle office and/or operations preferred

  • Experience reading/working with legal documents, an asset.
