The Music Department at Mount Allison University invites applications for the position of
director of the Mount Allison Chamber Orchestra (MUSC 1629-4629). This is a stipendiary
(part-time) appointment. Preference will be given to applicants with degrees and/or diplomas in
conducting and an established record of successful orchestral direction at the university and
professional levels. Responsibilities include directing one weekly rehearsal of 2.5 hours,
evaluating student participation, and preparing up to two public concerts each term. The Mount
Allison Chamber Orchestra is an ensemble of approximately 30 members, consisting of both
Mount Allison students and members of the Sackville community. The orchestra meets both Fall
and Winter terms, from September 2021 to April 2022. Rehearsals will be held on the campus of
Mount Allison University, normally on Thursday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Application materials should include a letter of interest, an up-to-date curriculum vitae, and the
