The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) invites applications for a three-year term position in the School of Economics at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, with a proposed starting date of January 1, 2025. Responsibilities:
• Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Economics.
• Developing and delivering high-quality course materials, including lectures, assignments, and exams.
• providing academic support through office hours and consultations.
• Participating in School’s meetings and contributing to the academic community through service activities.
• Collaborating with colleagues to enhance the school’s academic programs and initiatives.
Qualifications:
• A Graduate degree is required, Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related field preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence in university-level teaching.
• Ability to teach a broad range of economics courses effectively.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive educational environment for students of diverse backgrounds.

The Northwest campus in Terrace is situated on traditional Ts’msyen (Tsimshian) territory of the Kitsumkalum and Kitselas First Nations. It includes a satellite campus in the coastal community of Prince Rupert.

Salary
The salary for this position will be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant qualifications and experience as per the UNBC Faculty Association Collective Agreement. The annual salary range for this position is expected to be from $ 67,984 to $123,948. Please refer to the link below to the Collective Agreement (Appendix 48C) for more compensation information:
