Job Description
WHAT’S THE JOB?
Reporting to the Director, HRBP, this role requires fluency in both English and French, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across diverse teams. The HRBP Advisor performs HR duties for their client groups throughout Canada, acts as the key point of contact from HR with this client group and is the internal subject matter expert on employee and labour relations.
Leadership and Employee Support

Provide guidance to managers on handling employee and labor-related concerns.

Offer support in collective bargaining and union contract management.

Ensure Dexterra policies are clearly understood and followed.

Advise and assist with employee correspondence, communications, and a variety of workplace situations.

Act as an independent, impartial resource for staff and managers on Employee & Labour Relations issues to foster a positive work environment.

Participate in dispute mediation and collaborate with management on conflict resolution and appropriate actions.

Support employee terminations, assist with related documentation, and conduct exit interviews to analyze voluntary turnover reasons.

Provide coaching and consultation to all levels of leadership on employee relations, labor relations, collective agreements, policy interpretation, talent management, and organizational design.
Business Relationships and Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain trusted relationships with leaders and employees across client groups.

Establish credibility with employees and create positive, cooperative relationships at all leadership levels.

Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring the highest level of support to all employees and stakeholders.

Focus on a customer-service mindset, providing guidance and training to field managers on HR practices.
Policy, Process, and Project Support

Support the implementation of HR policies and procedures, communicating updates to management and employees.

Work with the HR team to support projects and complete objectives.

Identify process gaps and propose solutions to bridge deficiencies.

Assist internal departments, such as Payroll and other HR Business Partners, as needed.
Metrics, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement

Collect metrics and generate reports to measure the success of HR initiatives and identify potential growth opportunities for the department and organization.

Stay informed on legislative updates and HR best practices, ensuring compliance and up-to-date knowledge.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support various HR functions.
Qualifications
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Fluency in both English and French, both verbal and written required.
-
Must be proficient in Quebec French (Québécois French).

Excellent knowledge of provincial and federal employment and labour legislation with an emphasis on Quebec.

Post-Secondary education in Human Resources Management or Industrial Relations and a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working as an HR Generalist/Business Partner.

CHRP designation considered an asset.
-
Must have labour relations experience dealing with multiple unions.
-
Experience with ATS (Smart Recruiters) and ADP is strongly preferred.
