Financial Analyst in North Vancouver, British Columbia

Aston Carter’s large client is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their team on an 18-month contract, with strong possibility to extend. The Financial Analyst will be part of the organization supporting the Manufacturing, Construction, and Capital Expenditure Team. This person will interact regularly with individuals and management in Operations and other functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyzes weekly labour performance against the performance management baseline (PMB) budget

  • Assists Control Account Managers prepare quarterly estimate at completion (EAC) forecasting

  • Prepares weekly, monthly, and quarterly variance reports against PMB and EAC

  • Develops and prepares actionable operational metrics measuring against the PMB and EAC

  • Provides Program Controls team support during the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting consolidation

  • Assists in the development of analytical reporting to enhance Operations understanding/requirements in support of Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis process

  • Gathers and analyzes cost and timesheet data, prepares management summaries

  • Research cost variances against monthly spend, budget, and forecasts

  • Adheres to established processes and offers insights for improvements for greater standardization and efficiency

  • Develop and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Performs additional ad hoc analyses and other duties as assigned

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • 3+ years experience financial analysis (Data Reconciliation, Variance Analysis, Month-end Close, Journal Entry, Budget Forecast)

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Advanced proficiency within Microsoft Excel

  • Commit to 18-month term

  • Be willing to work on site 100%

Nice to Have:

  • Proficiency with Power BI

  • Project Management experience

  • ERP/Financial transformation initiatives exposure
