Job Summary

As the Human Resources Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for supporting a variety of HR and Environmental and Health & Safety administrative duties. You’ll facilitate daily HR functions related to recruitment, onboarding, training administration, HRIS data entry, and other HR initiatives. This role will also be responsible for coordinating our health & safety program, training, and documentation.

This position is located in North York and Vaughan. You will be expected to be onsite at the North York facility 80% of the time and 20% of the time at the Vaughan location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide HR support to employees, responding to inquiries regarding human resources policies, procedures, and programs

  • Follow-up, manage and create employment related documentation and ensure corresponding updates are populated within the HRIS system

  • Manage the time and attendance system for hourly employees

  • Support recruiting efforts with pre-screen interviews, background checks, onboarding and documentation

  • Administer the Health & Safety program, including health & safety policy implementation, legislative requirements, training, and investigations

  • Coordinate wellness initiatives and employee events

  • Perform other duties as required

    Education and Experience

  • Post-Secondary Education in HR or related discipline

  • A minimum of 1 year of HR experience

  • Working knowledge of Success Factors, or related HRIS system

  • Experience with Health & Safety within an industrial environment

  • Familiar with the OHSA and regulations

    Key Competencies

  • Good functional understanding of core HR business terminology, processes and practices

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, in order to build strong partnerships with key internal stakeholders

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, and other MS applications

  • Proven aptitude for detail and accuracy

  • Ability to meet deadlines including ability to plan and manage multiple tasks to completion at the same time
