MONLOVE is seeking an experienced Production Director, with an expertise with touring productions, who will contribute to new concepts and everchanging ways of getting our productions from script to on tour!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work from early development stages to final stages in concept, design and creation
Assist in casting
Adhere to all applicable laws, including those relating to intellectual property, of the production and its partners
Collaborate with all Designers
Collaborate with the Musical Director, Choreographer, Crew and Producers as needed
Rehearsal direction
Participate in technical and dress rehearsals, and collaborate with the Technical Director, Staff, and Crew
Attend all production meetings
Provide progress reports on acting/blocking rehearsals
Schedule and lead “side-bar” meetings with Designers, other artistic staff and adhere to all union requirements
Read the script thoroughly, culminating in an artistic vision and provide all notes and updates
Create a rehearsal schedule with the Stage Manager
Work on all logistics and planning for touring schedules
REQUIREMENTS
A degree in theatre directing with a minimum of 5 years of experience
Ability to clearly and cogently express a cohesive artistic vision
French and English
Demonstrated leadership and success in managing administrative matters
Depth of knowledge of contemporary theatre and the ability to distill concepts for young audiences
Strong capability for logistics, problem-solving, and calendaring
