Description
Corner Brook Temple recognizes the need and opportunity to reach out to young families and students in the Corner Brook and surrounding area. We are looking for an enthusiastic person with a passion for others to embrace this exciting ministry opportunity. The goal of this ministry is to build relationships, to share Christ love, and to encourage young families and students in their faith. From this ministry it is hoped that Church Growth and Church Revitalization will also occur. The successful Candidate will work with youth and families at Corner Brook Temple and post-secondary students at our four campuses in Corner Brook.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support current Corps Youth Ministries / participate in youth special events (ie: FUSE, Rally Day, etc.)
- Give oversight and direction to all Youth Ministries / Christian Education.
- Duties as required to assist with the facilitation of church growth / outreach to engage students and young families into church fellowship.
- Plan and facilitate outreach to Post-Secondary students
- Create / help support new ministry opportunities for young families and students.
- Organize and/or participate in Sunday worship where youth/ students may be involved or where support is needed by Corps leaders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A strong commitment to Christ with a deep and thoughtful understanding of their faith.
- Demonstrates a passion and self-motivation for ministry to students and younger families.
- Youth ministry leadership experience would be an asset.
- Team player, with excellent relationship building skills, with a vision for ministry, open to and a willingness to explore new ideas.
- Possess good technology skills to enhance communication and outreach.
- Must be willing to adhere to and support the mission, vision, values, policies and procedures of The Salvation Army and the Corner Brook Temple Corps.
- Obtain a Criminal Police/Vulnerable Sector Check and clearance through The Salvation Army internal abuse registry.
- Be willing to sign The Salvation Army Code of Conduct Receipt & Acknowledgement Form
TERM: Regular, full-time with probationary period of three months; 35 hours per week (flexible according to the needs of evening and weekend programming
