About this job

As the Director of Service Delivery, you will

direct the activities of teams engaged in delivering services, including reviewing and evaluating proposals and reports and researching the evolving central agency compliance requirements and the trends and developments affecting the work

provide leadership to multiple concurrent, multidisciplinary project teams engaged in service delivery and other assigned projects, which involve planning, analysis, design, development or enhancement, quality assurance, testing, and implementation

direct the delivery of services in collaboration with other specialists, the negotiation of service level agreements with clients, ongoing client support, and all reporting to ensure effective project delivery and to meet clients’ needs

provide authoritative advice to the principal, the assistant auditor general, senior executives, and managers across the OAG on plans, strategies, risk mitigation, and innovative solutions

deliver presentations to senior management committees on the status of projects and seek approval for new initiatives

Job Requirements

Essential Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/ or experience.

Experience:
Significant experience* in establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships with a variety of stakeholders, such as federal departments and agencies, other levels of government, internal service lines, and private sector organizations.

Recent** and significant experience* in providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior management (director level and above) on complex issues.

Experience in building, empowering, and managing multidisciplinary teams.

Significant experience* in managing human and financial resources.

Recent** experience managing projects.

Significant experience* in planning, delivering, and managing services.

Significant experience* in analyzing and resolving complex policy and/or program issues and providing senior management (director level and above) with strategic advice.

  • Significant experience is defined as a minimum of 5 years’ experience.

** Recent is defined as within the last 2 years.

Asset Qualifications

Recent** experience in managing real property projects or services delivery in diverse areas (for example, IT, Facilities, Health and Safety, Security, or Help Desk)

Experience in managing integrated project delivery.

Experience in project management, design management, and contracting processes.

Recent experience** in leading renewal and change management initiatives in a medium-sized organization.

Experience in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and best practices in medium-sized organizations.

Experience in developing and implementing a service catalogue and performance measures.

Experience in managing the implementation of services.

Experience in managing sensitive horizontal issues of a sensitive nature requiring a high degree of coordination and collaboration.

Significant experience* in consulting, negotiating, collaborating, and working on horizontal issues with central agencies and other federal departments or agencies.

Experience in engaging central agencies in areas such as policy development, new programs development, Treasury Board submissions, or innovation at the federal level.

Experience in liaising with central agencies.

Experience in providing advice directly to senior management (director level and above).

Experience in managing a client service environment.
