Duties

Planning and direction of the Food Services Program in an institution of the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) where the Food Services operation is mostly done through the distribution of food items to offenders housed in living units preparing their own meals (Small Group Meal Preparation (SGMP) program) and through central food distribution for a limited number of offenders;

OR

Planning and direction of operations at a regional food production centre (RFPC).

Direction, control and supervision of the training provided to offenders working for Food Services to improve their employability skills and behaviours.

A pool of qualified candidates could be used to fill temporary or permanent positions at the Port-Cartier Institution, Donnacona Institution and the Regional Food Production Centre (RFPC) located in Sainte-Anne-Des-Plaines.

EDUCATION

A secondary school diploma, or a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission (PSC) test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or successful completion of a provincially/territorially approved secondary school equivalency test.

And

A diploma related to food and/or nutrition

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Experience in the management of food services for an institutional or commercial institution, including large-scale production planning and distribution process for a period of approximately five (5) years within the last ten (10) years.

Experience in human resources management (such as assigning work, managing performance, developing resourcing plans, determining needs and approving training, etc.) for a period of approximately two (2) years.

Experience in financial resources management (such as delegating full budget authority, forecasting, planning, budget allocation, reporting, etc.) for a period of approximately two (2) years.

Experience implementing/maintaining Quality Assurance program standards for a period of approximately two (2) years.

Valid and recognized Safe Food Handling Program certification

Degree equivalency

Experience implementing and maintaining Hazardous Analytical Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards

Experience in the food production process using the cook-chill technique

Work experience in a correctional environment.
