EDUCATION ASSISTANT – CROSSWALK
Location: District – South Squamish Elementary School
Temporary: Immediately to June 29, 2021, or return of the incumbent, whichever occurs first
`Hours: 5.5 hours per day, for all days school is in session (Student Specific 1)
0.5 hour per day, for all days school is in session (Crosswalk)
Rate of Pay: $27.76/hour (Student Specific 1) $25.09/hour (Crosswalk)
Duties & Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provides assistance to students who have physical disabilities, chronic health impairments, intellectual disabilities and/or social, emotional and behavioural problems as designated by the Director of Instruction, while supporting the achievement of stated programs goals and objectives. Supervises a designated intersection and/or crosswalk, prior to and/or after regular school hours while assisting students to safely arrive at or leave the school grounds.
Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year’s related experience. A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program. Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License. Knowledge of basic First Aid. Basic knowledge of related learning tools (ie. computers, etc).
